Both Bach Aria Soloists and the Midwest Chamber Ensemble will present concerts in early October celebrating women composers. The Friends of Chamber Music opens its season with the Boston Early Music Festival Chamber Ensemble, and the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra has programmed a concert of Mozart favorites. If your taste is orchestral music, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra returns to Kansas City through the Harriman-Jewell Series, the UMKC Conservatory Orchestra will be at Helzberg Hall, and the Kansas City Wind Symphony performs its first concert of the season. Musica Sacra and Te Deum will perform works by Bach and Byrd, respectively, and near the middle of the month, you may want to catch the Kansas City Chorale’s performance of spooky Halloween music.
