Biography
Jozef Kapustka was born in Poland in 1969 and began his musical studies at the age of 3.Meeting Sviatoslav Richter shortly thereafter has set his vocation evers ince.Upon graduating from New York Juilliard School in 1992 he has completed a Postgraduate Advanced Studies diploma specialising in piano performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London having worked subsequently with Dmitri Baskirov in Madrid and legendary Vera Gornostaeva in Moscow and eventually settled down tolive in Paris.Very early Kapustka started to appear in most of New York's world class premises such as Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center,Metropolitan Museum,United Nations,jointly with Tamami Honma,Japan at the Carnegie Hall ("magical,amazing experience" as seenin "The New York Times") and has been featured on Voice of AmericaInternational and New York classical radio WQXR live radio broadcastshailed as "one of the most interesting radio programmings on the air"by opinionated New York Village Voice. Furthermore he has been featuredon France Musique and Europe1 broadcasts.Subsequently his concert career has taken him to Italy withSicily,Greece and creta,Malte,Spain,Bulgaria,Croatia,Ukraine,Germany("a great introverted pianist, obsessed technician""-NurnbergerZeitung),Switzerland,France ("a particularly beautiful concert"-RadioFrance International),French Polynesia withTahiti,Finland,Denmark,Sweden,Norway,Lithuania,Russia,Turkey,Lybia,Egypte,Jordania,Bresiland USA with Hawaii.At times he would also display a surprisinglyecclectic taste collaborating with French leading stage directors RogerLouret while acting out his own character to a sound critical acclaim("what a talent!atrue juke-box!ask the piece,he plays it"- Depeche dumidi) and Jean Christian Grinevald for the world's largest  theater festival in Avignon,France.Kapustka is a winner of numerous prizes and awards, among those 1994Grand Prix of the Paris International Conservatory,Olga Samaroff Prizein Piano (USA), laureate of Albeniz Foundation,Madrid,JohnsonFoundation,Princeton etc. .A highly respected American critic and writer,David Dubal ("RememberingHorowitz") has once called Kapustka a " great pianist who loves hisart", leading American authority on Liszt playing Jerome Lowenthal "anexcellent and very interesting artist" , pianists Gyorgy Sandor andOxana Yablonskaya respectively " true musical talent" and " veryexciting and fully committed individual".His solo or joint performances are unvariably and unanimously met bypublic and critical acclaim, as seen recently:"...a high voltage stuntman,inspired and talentuous.Excellentissimeevening,huge bravo!";"sensational,both monumental and intimist pianist", Billetreduc"Highly entertaining playing" 20 minutes Europe,"Close to delirious", Le Figaro,"Done expertly and with much talent" Regard en coulisse,"do not missit!" theatreonline.com.
