In May 2009, TOSHIYUKI SHIMADA was selected from over 220 candidates from 5 continents, as the new Music Director and Conductor of the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra.  He also holds posts as Music Director and Conductor of the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes and since 2005, has been Music Director of the Yale Symphony Orchestra.
