A concert by the Chiltern Camerata/Sam Laughton/Bene't Coldstream
High Wycombe, England
Saturday, 26 May 2012 - 7:30 PM
Presenter: Richard Morbey
Conductor: Sam Laughton
The Chiltern Camerata will round off its 2011/12 season with a concert on
Saturday 26th May at the Parish Church, Church Street, High Wycombe, HP13 6RF.

The concert is our contribution to the Wycombe Arts Festival 2012, and is something of a special occasion! We are giving an anniversary performance of Finzi’s Dies Natalis – a marvellous and uplifting work for tenor and string orchestra. The concert celebrates the 60th anniversary of an early performance of this work – given in High Wycombe in 1952 by the celebrated tenor, Wilfrid Brown, who at that time was on the brink of a glittering international career.

Our tenor on this occasion will be Bene’t Coldstream, who so delighted our audience a year ago with his performance of the role of The Evangelist in Bach’s St John Passion.

The other works in the concert are :
Elgar – Introduction and Allegro (with the quartet comprising the Camerata’s section leaders)
Walton – Two pieces from Henry V
Debussy – Danses Sacrée et Profane (featuring harpist
Sarah Goss)
Saint Saëns – Prelude ‘Le Deluge’ Op 45
Peter Warlock – Capriol Suite

Tickets for the concert are now available.
They are priced at £12 (concessions £10).
As usual those under 14 years get free admission if accompanied by an adult audience member. Tickets may be purchased by telephoning 01494 883112 or by
