Sibelius Symphony No. 7

Adagio – Un pochetto meno adagio – Vivacissimo – Adagio –Allegro molto moderato – Vivace – Presto – Adagio – Largamente molto – Affetuoso

Sibelius's Symphony No. 7, the composer's last, is startlingly original in form—a single movement—and composed in C Major. That last fact was greeted with astonishment by musicians who felt that everything that could be written in C Major had been written. Indeed, British composer Ralph Vaughan Williams maintained that only Sibelius could make C Major sound completely fresh.
