Aaron Jay Kernis is a leading American composer who won the 1998 Pulitzer Prize for music composition, making him one of the youngest composers ever to win the coveted award. He was also recently inducted into the Classical Music Hall of Fame, and currently teaches music composition at Yale School of Music. "Whisper, Echo, A Cry" had its world premiere only last Janurary with the San Antonio Symphony.
