Puccini: Gianni Schicchi
Boston, Massachusetts
Sunday, 13 December 2015 - 7:00 PM
Conductor: David Yi
NEC's graduate voice students perform Puccini's one-act opera Gianni Schicchi, with orchestra conducted by NEC graduate conducting major David Yi. Directed by Steven Goldstein.

Upon the death of their wealthy relative, four members of the Donati family gather together to “mourn” their loss and retrieve the will containing what they hope to be bountiful riches left in their names. To the horror of the greedy family, all of their late relative's fortune was left to a monastery, leaving them empty-handed. This is when Gianni Schicchi arrives with his daughter, and Schicchi devises a plot to rewrite the deceased’s will, land his own small fortune in return, and marry his daughter to the Donatis' nephew.
