Ensemble: Ravos Quartet
Each year, an audition committee of professional musicians selects a few exceptional student ensembles to represent the NEC Honors Ensemble Program. The ensembles work with a faculty coach and are given an opportunity to perform a spring recital in NEC's Jordan Hall.

Ravos Quartet is composed of Geneva Lewis & Gergana Haralampieva, violins; Zhanbo Zheng, viola; Audrey Chen, cello. Their faculty coach is Yeesun Kim.

Hailing from four countries all across the world, the members of the Ravos Quartet first met over the summer at the Ravinia Steans Institute and Taos School of Music. They officially came together in the Fall of 2016 at the New England Conservatory and within the first few months of their formation, garnered attention as an NEC Honors Ensemble. In addition, they were the recent winners of the 2017 Borromeo String Quartet Guest Artist Award.

The name “Ravos” is derived from a combination of Ravinia and Taos, and it also carries the meaning “to delight” or “to enchant”. Members of the Ravos Quartet have been featured on NPR’s From the Top, at the Fischoff and Primrose Competitions, and have studied at the Curtis Institute, the Colburn School, the Central Conservatory in Beijing, and Harvard University.
