Caspian Piano Quartet
Boston, Massachusetts
Tuesday, 9 May 2017 - 7:30 PM
Each year, an audition committee of professional musicians selects a few exceptional student ensembles to represent the NEC Honors Ensemble Program. The ensembles work with a faculty coach and are given an opportunity to perform a spring recital in NEC's Jordan Hall.

Caspian Piano Quartet is composed of Ji-Won Song, violin; Jiali Li, viola; Zi Wang, cello; Kyle Orth, piano. Their faculty coach is Meng-Chieh Liu.

An exhilarating new ensemble, the Caspian Quartet is comprised of graduate and doctoral students at the New England Conservatory. While coming from diverse backgrounds, the members of the quartet are united in their musical passions, artistic sensitivities, and international reputations as captivating performers. As chamber musicians, members of the quartet have performed across the globe in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, the Kennedy Center, Jordan Hall, the Isabella Stewart Garden Museum, and the MFA Boston. This semester, the Caspian Quartet has participated in outreach concerts in the greater Boston area, with an emphasis on making music more accessible to diverse audiences. The quartet has been coached for the past year by Meng-Chieh Liu.
