Festive showpieces for orchestra: Dvorak’s Scherzo capriccioso, Borodin’s “Polovtsian Dances” (the tune for “Take my hand, I’m a stranger in paradise…”), and a sparkling new work by Julia Wolfe, commissioned for this opening weekend.
