The Terre Haute Symphony has earned a reputation for excellence in artistry and community service in and beyond the Vigo County area is serves directly. Founded in 1926, the organization has distinguished itself through significant classical concerts and artistic events such as "honoring the Greatest Generation."  The THSO is the second oldest orchestra in Indiana. The music director and conductor is Dr. David Bowden, serving since 1997.

The THSO is committed to music education for all ages. Concert Comments with David Bowden, offered prior to most concerts, provide an opportunity to learn what's interesting and unique about the music and get a behind-the-scenes look at the guest artists and their careers. Concerts for fourth and fifth graders in Vigo and surrounding communities annually provide an educational opportunity to experience a symphony orchestra and hear some of the greatest classical hits of all time.

We look forward to continuing to enhance the quality of life in Vigo County and the surrounding communities we serve with inspiring live musical performances and educational activities.
THSO concerts are held on the campus of Indiana State University in the Tilson Music Hall or Hulman Center. Tickets are available by phone, in person, by mail, or online.
