Yeol Eum Son Korea Age 23
Yeol Eum Son has performed with most of the leading orchestras in South Korea as well as the Israel, Tokyo, and Warsaw Philharmonics, among other noted orchestras. In 2004 at the age of eighteen, she was the featured soloist on tour with the New York Philharmonic conducted by Lorin Maazel in Asia. Ms. Son participated at the welcoming concert for Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary General of the United Nations in 2007 and was again invited to perform with the New York Philharmonic when they returned to Seoul in 2008. She has been heard at several international music festivals, including the Arthur Rubinstein (Israel); the Beethoven Easter and Chopin (Poland); Klavier Olympiade and Rheingau (Germany), and the Bowdoin (United States). Among other non-musical interests, Ms. Son is a passionate basketball fan and keeps up with her hometown team in Wonju, Kangwon Province.
