Biography

Krista Jobson is Principal Flutist of the Topeka Symphony and Principal Flutist of The Trade Winds Recording Ensemble for Carl Fischer, Inc. She has given performances with the Piccolo Spoleto Festival Orchestra, Spartanburg Philharmonic, Spartanburg Repertory Theater Orchestra, Spartanburg Children’s Theater Orchestra, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, and Brevard Symphony Orchestra.
Ms. Jobson holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Flute Performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she also earned a Master’s degree in 2007. Her undergraduate education was completed in 2005 at Converse College, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Before completing her degrees, Ms. Jobson toured for four years as flutist in an active-duty Air Force band and woodwind quintet. Ms. Jobson serves as an Adjunct Faculty member at both the University of Missouri-Kansas City and at Kansas City Kansas Community College. During the summer, Ms. Jobson serves as a faculty member of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, in Twin Lake, MI, where she performs with the faculty woodwind quintet; and as Assistant Director of the Heartland Chamber Music Academy, in Overland Park, KS.
