Center for Performing Arts is more than just a venue for live performing arts. It is a vibrant cultural destination that encourages and supports arts education, entertainment, community dialog and creative innovation for students and community members throughout the south suburban and Chicagoland areas.

Our state-of-the art facility seats 1,171 patrons and is located in the midst of the Governors State University campus. With free parking, a convenient location and affordable pricing, the Center offers a complete entertainment experience that rivals city venues, without the hassle.

Since opening in 1995, the Center has grown into the premier gathering place in the region for quality, accessible and diverse entertainment, serving over 60,000 patrons annually. The Center offers national touring acts, showcases Chicago-based artists and cultivates the rising stars of tomorrow through its community and academic theatre programs. Presentations on stage represent a variety of genres including opera, family programs, theatre, dance, comedy, rock/pop/blues/jazz concerts, educational experiences and more. Whatever your cultural tastes, we have something for you.

The university also houses an on-site Visual Arts Gallery and The Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park, offering unique opportunities for pre- and post-show enrichment activities and social gatherings.
