Biography
Ilia Ulianitsky was born in Russia in 1989 and immigrated with his family to Israel in 1993. Ilia is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Music degree in Piano performance at The Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, California under John Perry. Ilia has received many prizes and awards in various competitions, including the Pnina Zalzsman, the "Golden Chanukia," and the Chopin competitions in Israel. He was awarded 1st prize at the 2008 Schimmel USASU International Competition, 1st prize at the World Pianovision Most Wanted Competition, the Gold Medal at the Tucson Symphony Young Artist competition and the ASU Concert of Soloists competition, among others. Among the halls that Ilia had played in are the Jerusalem Theater - Henery Krown Hall, the Beer-sheva Conservatory Hall, the Haifa University, the Jerusalem Music Center, and the Shimmel Hall in Braunsweig Germany, as part of the Braunschweig Classix Festival. Ilia has performed as soloist with orchestras including the Israel Symphonieta, the Beer-sheva Mandolin Orchestra, with whom he toured Serbia and Bulgaria, the Symphony of the Southwest, the West Valley Symphony, the MusicaNova Baroque Ensemble, the ASU Symphony,  and the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. Ilia's teachers have included John Perry, Faina Eizenberg, Dr. Asaf Zohar, and Dr. Baruch Meir. He has participated in masterclasses with world renowned artists such as Nikolai Petrov, Alexandre Mnodaynts, Emanuel Krasovsky, John O'connor, and Menahem Pressler. Ilia was the recipient of numerous Merit Scholarships for his outstanding musicianship from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation.
