Biography

Artist-in-Residence in Jazz Piano
Tyrone Jackson joined the faculty of Kennesaw State
University in 2010 teaching jazz piano.
He performs an eclectic blend of classic and contemporary jazz and is an
accomplished composer.
Mr. Jackson was born in the birth place of jazz, New
Orleans. He has a Bachelor of Arts from
the University of New Orleans. He
studied privately with Ellis Marsalis and Mary Ann Bulla. He has played with Earl Klugh, Melba Moore,
Wynton Marsalis, Wes Anderson, and Greg Dawson.
Mr. Jackson toured Italy and Austria with the UNO Jazz Band and Brazil
with Michael Ward. He is a Jazz Compostion
Competition winner and a member of the Rialto Jazz Artist Foundation. His teaching experience ranges from private
piano instruction, jazz piano, jazz theory and improvisation.
Mr. Jackson’s CD, “Dedicated,” features 13 creative and
original tracks.
