Atlanta Schola Cantorum, founded in 1974 and thus the area's oldest independent chorus, presents two or three sets of concerts each year in the Atlanta area. The core of the group's repertory is the polyphonic sacred music of the Renaissance, especially Josquin, Palestrina, Victoria, Tallis, and Byrd.
