Tomorrow, when the CIM Orchestra takes the stage for one last Severance Hall concert this season, they will do so under the guest baton of Jaime Laredo, who’s ensemble—the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio—will join the Orchestra in performing Beethoven’s Triple Concerto. In advance of the concert, Cleveland Classical interviewed violinist Jaime Laredo and cellist Sharon Robinson who are partners in life as well as music. Just in case you missed it last week, be sure to check out Cleveland.com’s article highlighting some of the bigger moments for classical music in Cleveland. We are thrilled to see several members of the CIM family in the spotlight. Included were new faculty members Jaime Laredo (violin) and Sharon Robinson (cello) and the head of CIM’s clarinet department Franklin Cohen, as well as CIM Preparatory student Haruno Sato (who is actively involved in a variety of community projects).

“The occasion was graced with the kind of assured and seasoned performances of works by Beethoven, Previn and Brahms that can only become so refined by three decades of constant togetherness,” writes ClevelandClassical’s Daniel Hathaway in his review of the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio concert that opened the Cleveland Institute of Music’s Mixon Hall Masters Series on Wednesday, Oct. 17. Check out his short, but sweet review of the Trio’s musical selections and cohesive, confident performance.
