CIM quartet-in-residence the Cavani String Quartet perform tonight at the American Music Festival of Carteret County at 8 p.m. at The History Place in Morehead City, N.C., in a program titled “Music You Love.” Following the performance of works by Schumann and Bartok, the artists will be available for a meet and greet.

Daniel Hathaway at offers a detailed and delightful review of the newest CD release by a CIM faculty member, namely "Richard King: Chamber Music for Horn." On this recording, which Hathaway calls "a work of sonic beauty," King was joined by friends and colleagues from both The Cleveland Orchestra and CIM. Well worth a read AND a listen!

Susan Schaul, Cool Cleveland, shares insights on Ludwig van Beethoven and The Complete Beethoven Cycle--a concert series by Cavani String Quartet member--after speaking with one of the quartet's violinists, Annie Fullard. The Cavani wraps up their project with a free concert tomorrow at 8 pm in Kulas Hall, where they will perform the very first and very last of the composer's string quartets.

Waterbury, 13, is the heart, mind and musician behind the cleverly named event that will benefit Lev La Lev (Hebrew for "Heart to Heart"), an orphanage in Israel. Read on...
