NOTE: These sample recordings of my trombone concerto are digital, MIDI-generated demos produced within the music notation software I use (Finale) and are, as your ears will confirm, very rough approximations of what's in the score. Just to give you a taste of what this music sounds like before the real orchestra gets its hands on it.
Robert Kozanek (principal trombonist, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra) recorded a short, fanfare-esque piece of mine for euphonium and piano called JUBILEE last year in Slovakia, and after the session he asked me to write a trombone concerto for him to perform at the 60th anniversary of the conservatory in Kromeriz where his father conducts the orchestra. The idea was initially that of Kirk Trevor (principal guest conductor, Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra), who had conducted the recording of my baritone saxophone concerto the day before.
This is the result.
