Ravinia evening (indoor) concert:

Schubert sonata D960

A different piano and space than at the Cliburn.

A little bit darker and richer sound at the evening performance with fewer surreal effects, and quieter in the smaller hall, though the projection was good.

He was able to be very expressive on that piano, and has an ability to keep the playing interesting.

He said on WFMT that he has been focusing on Chopin lately.

Dazzle technique effect, and some of the sonata movements and Faust technique I thought improved from the Cliburn.

One thing though, from where I sat, the echo in the hall didn't seem to always work with the pedaling, but the clarity got better as the concert continued.

He has some mime talent too.
