Her program:

Partita No. 2 by Bach
Sonata No. 28 by Beethoven, Op. 101
Danse Macabre by Saint-Saens, transc. Horowitz
Sonata No. 2 by Scriabin, Op. 19
Preludes Op. 32 No. 3, 4, 5 by Rachmaninoff
Ballade No. 1 by Chopin
Excerpts from The Sleeping Beauty Op. 66 by Tchaikovsky, arr. Pletnev

2 encores, unfortunately have forgotten which, one by Scarlatti, I think.

I highly recommend everyone to go to a live Claire Huangci concert.

In addition to becoming a good interpreter, she is a very spectacular performer with a very large sound that I don't think comes across quite as well on webcast.

This was most evident on the Russian music, Scriabin and Rachmaninoff, as well as with the showpiece, Danse Macabre, and the Chopin Ballade.

Some effective experiments with sound and tone on the Beethoven sonata.

The Partita was nicely interpreted; only criticism is that her sound was maybe a little large or muddy there.

Downers Grove North High School has a comfortable and large auditorium with good acoustics.

There was a pre-concert lecture, and CD sales, as well as a chance to meet the artist. I had to miss most of that, though I purchased the CD.
