Of course, a lot depends upon the specific performance, since the same composition can be played enthusiastically or sedately. Since I like lively and loathe lethargy, the risk of not knowing a given performance's energy level keeps me from buying more recordings - let alone paying the big bucks to see and hear the music played in person. I really wish the CD/DVD cover art, Youtube https://forums-fr.ubi.com/showthread.php/185503... pages, and live performance ads included info on the energetic quality of the performances.

One of my favorite recordings is of Bach's Concerto in D Minor for Two Violins and Orchestra https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2411218 , played by Itzhak Perlman and Isaac Stern, accompanied by the New York Philharmonic https://community.flexerasoftware.com/showthrea... and conducted by Zubin Mehta. Even the 2nd ("slow") movement has so much beauty and expressive interest that it concludes almost too soon.
