Carl Topilow's CIM Orchestra is at the top of their game! I'm not a musician, but a music lover, and their performance on Wednesday was just wonderful. The clarinetist was extraordinary; she really knows her instrument and how to create many moods from it. The Ravel was excellent and just transported me to meditative visions. Keep up the good work!

The Cleveland Orchestra's performance of Shostakovich's 5th was nothing short of magnificent on Friday night! Franz Welser-Möst's extraordinary conducting brought him back for six curtain calls and then he led the orchestra in Wagner's moving prelude to Lohengrin for an encore. I nearly dissolved in tears! This was a stunning and very electrifying performance. Welser-Möst's conducting was simply brilliant!

Once again, the CIM orchestra, this time under the baton of James Feddeck, was outstanding. The Prelude to Khovantchina by Mussorgsky was delightful. Charles Morey performed with great vigor and sensitivity in the challenging Violin concerto No. 2 in G Minor by Prokofiev. Tchaikovsky's "Pathetique" was both mournful and arresting. This was a brooding and melancholy piece and the orchestra was able to translate these feelings with their instruments, never going over the top, but playing harmoniously under Mr. Feddeck's clear direction.

There aren't enough stars in the universe to give this concert. Maestro Babayan gave a phenomenal performance tonight. It was a privilege and honor to be in the audience. The piano was singing sweetly with Mr. Babayon becoming a part of the instrument. Words fail. Ecstasy prevails!
