In July, we visited the Great Wall International Music Academy in Beijing, China, where we taped not one, but two amazing shows of a astounding young musicians. Here, listen to the Great Wall Soloists, conducted by Kurt Sassmannshaus, perform "Moon Reflecting in the Erquan Pond" by Abing, arranged by Wu Zuqiang. Abing is a famous Chinese folk musician who specialized in the Erhu & Pipa. This is considered to be his masterpiece for the Erhu though it's arranged here for strings alone. The arrangement was made by Wu Zuqiang, the first president of the Beijing Conservatory following the Cultural Revolution.
