TMC performs the world premiere of Canadian composer Stephanie Martin's An Earthly Tree, composed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of Healey Willan (1880-1968). Commissioned by Father Scott Haynes and the St. Cecilia Choir of St. John Cantius Church, Chicago. The performance starts with the plainchant antiphon Hodie Christus natus Est, the melody upon which An Earthly Tree is based. Soprano soloist: Teresa Mahon. Tenor soloist: Mitch Aldrich. TMC conducted by Howard Dyck. Recorded live December 5, 2018 at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church during the TMC's Festival of Carols concert.
