Andy Dexterity mimes the movement to Mussorgsky's Ballet of the Unhatched Chicks from Pictures at an Exhibition. Get tickets our Family Concert of Pictures at an Exhibition: Promenade around an imaginary art gallery with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and physical communicator Andy Dexterity. Modest Mussorgsky liked his friend Viktor Hartmann’s drawings and paintings so much that he created a musical exhibition of them. We wander around the gallery, stopping at each one. There’s a sinister gnome, an old castle, a witch’s hut on chicken legs and more. Mussorgsky’s pictures are for the mind’s eye, but Andy Dexterity will create pictures with movement inspired by the music. Andy Dexterity is a performance maker who mixes dance, physical theatre and signed languages into an expressive form of communication. He creates an imaginary art gallery as the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and dynamic conductor Benjamin Northey perform this much-loved orchestral classic.
