Reimagined at the dawn of the United States, Mozart's masterpiece "The Marriage of Figaro" marks the start of an original, three-part trilogy, one that links together the operas Mozart and librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte co-created from 1786 to 1790. Under visionary director Michael Cavanagh, the Mozart-Da Ponte trilogy will trace the evolution of America, from the conflict of the American Revolution in "The Marriage of Figaro" to 1930s instability in "Così fan tutte" to finally a post-apocalyptic vision in "Don Giovanni." Starring Michael Sumuel, Jeanine De Bique, Nicole Heaston, Levente Molnár and Serena Malfi, "The Marriage of Figaro" has been hailed as "laugh-out-loud funny" (San Francisco Classical Voice), a production done with "beauty and verve" (San Francisco Chronicle). Check it out, now through November 1, 2019.
