Brandenburg Concerto (Thursdays @ 7)
Seeded by pacificsymphony on 28 Apr 2021
Author: Pacific Symphony
Today, Bach's Brandenburg Concertos are widely regarded as some of the best orchestral compositions of the Baroque era. And yet they were never performed during the composer's lifetime. After Bach gifted the manuscript of the six concertos to the Margrave of Brandenburg in 1721, it languished on library shelves until it was rediscovered in 1849. Brandenburg Concerto No. 2, performed here, contains one of the most difficult parts in the trumpet repertoire. This performance will be available for FREE streaming on our YouTube and Facebook channels starting at 7 p.m. (PDT) on April 29 through May 28. Artists Carl St.Clair, conductor Benjamin Smolen, flute Lelie Resnick, oboe Barry Perkins, trumpet Dennis Kim, violin Pacific Symphony Program BACH: Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 (Captured on March 20, 2021) MERCHANDISE Show support for your favorite orchestra by wearing the latest Pacific Symphony merchandise: EMAIL LIST Get the latest news, concert information and
